World Shop and Fair Trade
Fair trade has always concentrated on raising citizen awareness and, in particular, consumer awareness about sustainability and fair treatment regardless of where in the world production takes place. Generating new commercial circuits requires an unspoken agreement between producers and consumers and awareness of consumer behaviour.
The ModaCult Centre has joined the Civil Service projects presented by the Bottega Solidale of Genoa for the World Workshops network of the regions of Lombardy, Veneto, Piedmont, Liguria, Tuscany, Emilia Romagna and Umbria, in 2020, 2021 and 2022, for the realization of research with the involvement of Civil Service volunteers.
The objectives of the research are and will be to explore the world of Botteghe, consumption strategies, the relationship and cross-contamination between food consumption and textiles-clothing consumption, and the relationship with sustainability practices.
The first two years have produced significant results in terms of the training of Civil Service volunteers and research results.
