Global Media & Internet Concentration Project | Sydney Symposium
Massimo Scaglioni is Co-Applicant, coordinator for Italy Research Team and member, along with Anna Sfardini, Paolo Carelli, and Mattia Galli, of the research team for the Global Media & Internet Concentration Project (GMICP) (2021-2028). This research project has been awarded 2.5 million Canadian dollars in funding from the Canadian National Fund for Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC). The project is led by Professor Dwayne Winseck (School of Journalism and Communication, Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada) and encompasses over thirty universities across five continents.
As the world’s top media and communication scholars congregate in Australia for the 74th Annual ICA (Gold Coast) and IAMCR conferences, GMICP is organizing a two-day Research Symposium from June 27th till June 28th at University of Sydney featuring a workshop on media ownership categorization, presentations of the latest data and reports, a roundtable on new research frontiers, a workbook hackathon, presentation of inaugural RA paper prize and a guest lecture.
The Director of the Research Centre for Television and Audiovisual Media, Massimo Scaglioni, will be in attendance at the upcoming Sydney Symposium, where he will be joined by Ce.R.T.A.'s researcher Mattia Galli.
