MILAN: Be-Change, presentation of the essay "Epidemics and changes"

The Be-Change project comes to an end, but work on research data continues.
On Saturday 22 March, at 3.30 p.m., in the conference room of the Civic Archaeological Museum of Milan, Cinzia Bearzot and Marco Sannazaro will present their essay "Epidemics and changes" (Vita e Pensiero, 2025).

The global spread of the Covid-19 pandemic has had significant impacts on health, society and culture, the consequences of which are still being felt. Understanding the dynamics and upheavals caused by those events and reflecting on how to overcome that critical phase has stimulated a wide debate in various scientific fields.

The volume collects contributions that deal with historical, epigraphic and archaeological themes, ranging from the prehistoric period to the Middle Ages. It explores how natural events and epidemics have influenced behaviour in different societies. Particular attention is paid to the archaeological aspect, with analysis of funerary contexts, skeletons and objects found in tombs, such as coins.
