International Peace Science Center

The International Peace Science Center (IPSC) advances and conducts rigorous scientific research on peace, armed conflict, political violence, and their effects on societies and states. IPSC adopts Peace Science as an interdisciplinary social-science approach to explanation and evidence. The Center undertakes scholarly research and also organizes public events, collaborations, and open-data initiatives designed to engage students, practitioners, policymakers, and civil society, locally and globally across communities.

Initiatives

"Peace, Conflicts and the Economy" is an annual workshop devoted to the economics of peace and conflict. The event, hosted by Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore convenes leading scholars from Italy and abroad to share research, debate policy, and build collaborations.

CC2C investigates how climate change — especially agrifood disruptions — fuels violent conflict across different institutional contexts. Using a multi-scale design across several regions, the project maps causal pathways to inform policy in both LDCs and advanced economies.
