Prof. Raul Caruso

Raul Caruso (Avellino, 1972) is Full Professor of Economic Policy at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (UCSC), educated in Naples, Leuven, and Milan; at UCSC he teaches Peace Economics, International Economics, Economics of Crime, and Economics of the EU.

At UCSC he serves on the Steering Committee of the Piano Africa initiative and sits on the management board—currently as secretary—of the Research Center for Applied Economics (CSEA).
He is Director of CESPIC – European Centre of Peace Science, Integration and Cooperation at the Catholic University “Our Lady of Good Counsel” in Tirana.

Between 2009 and 2019 he served as Executive Director of the Network of European Peace Scientists (NEPS) and today leads the Italian chapter of Economists for Peace and Security (EPS)
Caruso is Editor-in-Chief of Peace Economics, Peace Science and Public Policy (PEPS) and serves on the editorial boards of Defence and Peace Economics, the Economics of Peace and Security Journal, and the Rivista Internazionale di Scienze Sociali. 
He is Principal Investigator of the PRIN project Climate Change, Violent Conflicts, and Welfare (CC2C).
