Congress program

On December 12, 2024, the final congress of the EMoCC (European Mobility Career Counseling) project took place in Milan at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. The event brought together professionals, educators, and researchers in the field of career guidance and European job mobility.

The day began with the opening institutional address by Emanuela Confalonieri, Director of CROSS (Center for Research on Counseling and Socio-professional Development) at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. This was followed by Diego Boerchi, Scientific Coordinator of EMoCC, who presented the project and, together with Teresa Rinaldi and Silvia Favagrossa, discussed the research findings that identified the factors influencing success and dissatisfaction in European professional mobility.

The morning continued with the presentation of two MOOCs developed during the project:

  • MOOC 1: Counseling for Labour Market, presented by Veronica Dana Sana and Anne Güller-Frey, offering insights into credential and competency evaluation.
  • MOOC 2: Advising for International Job Mobility, presented by Kelsie Ann Kerwin, focusing on guidance for international job mobility.

In the afternoon, participants engaged in three parallel sessions organized by Marta Rivolta:

  1. Health Session: Addressing health-related topics in counseling, with contributions from Gundula Gwenn Hiller and Peter Guggemos.
  2. Diversity Session: Focusing on managing diversity in mobility projects, with insights from Bénédicte Halba and representatives of French organizations such as the World Trade Center and the Center for International Mobility in Rennes.
  3. Capacity Session: Highlighting intercultural competencies, led by Kelsie Ann Kerwin, featuring an interactive workshop on skills needed for intercultural mobility.

The congress concluded with a plenary session, coordinated by Viviana Campelli, summarizing the challenges and opportunities in European job mobility and emphasizing the importance of health, diversity, and intercultural competencies in career counseling.
