Q-META brings quantum technologies into brain cancer research
A new research project funded by the Italian Ministry through the Fondo Italiano per la Scienza (FIS3) will soon begin at the I-LAMP laboratories. Q-META (Quantum-Enhanced Multidimensional Platform for the Functional Study of Cancer Cells Metabolism) will develop quantum-enhanced optical spectroscopies to observe metabolic processes in glioblastoma with unprecedented sensitivity and minimal phototoxicity. By combining quantum light with advanced bioprinted three-dimensional tumor models, the project aims to reveal how mechanical signals reshape tumor metabolism in realistic microenvironments, opening new opportunities for studying and eventually targeting aggressive brain cancers.
