Center for Applied Statistics in Business and Economics
The Center for Applied Statistics in Business and Economics aims to promote the application of statistical methodologies for the analysis of processes in the social, economic and business fields.
The fundamental objective is to represent a point of reference for the study of social and entrepreneurial reality, with particular attention to decision-making processes. The approach is essentially quantitative with advanced use of the potential offered by integrated information processing systems.
In particular, the Laboratory intends to develop - in close collaboration with Institutions, Businesses and Society - an applied research activity on topics ranging from socio-demographic analysis to decision support, with reference also to the forecasting aspect and the control of results.
It also intends to promote opportunities for interdisciplinary training and in-depth study on both methodological and applied topics.
Among the topics covered by the Laboratory are listed:
- Models for the analysis, interpretation, prediction of socio-demographic, economic and financial phenomena
- Simulation models for short- and medium-term planning
- Statistical models for interpreting markets
- Systems for monitoring and controlling the risk of business activities
- Experimental Consistency Verification of Decision Models
- Systems for evaluating the quality of data and the impact of public policies.
