Cariplo Factory Impact assessment of the "unheard talents" programme.
Scientific Coordinator: Prof. Alessandro Rosina. In collaboration with: Prof. Deldossi and Dr. Poy
"Talenti inauditi", a project that began in 2017 and continued in 2018, was focused on facilitating the exit from unemployment of individuals with unexpressed potential. The objectives were: to reactivate and enable job seekers through a module path in an innovative platform inserted within Cariplo Factory. The Laboratory evaluated the impact of "Unheard-of Talents" by adopting (and adapting) a counterfactual approach by implementing an empirical strategy capable of decreeing, to the best of the possibilities provided by the actually available data, whether the treatment (participation in the program) resulted in causal effects (an impact on some objective variables of interest). This project was selected to be presented at the Università Cattolica event on the Third Mission which was held on 14 February 2019.

Ebiquity Italy SrL – Average inflation.
Scientific Coordinator: Prof. Alessandro Rosina. In collaboration with: Prof. Sironi, Dr. Nai Ruscone, Dr. Meco.
The 2023 project is based on the observation of the price increase that has occurred in the Media market after the Covid-19 emergency. The project aims to provide an estimate of the inflation rate of advertising costs for a set of concessionaires that replace the main players in the television market and that also operate in other sectors of traditional media. The aim is to estimate the movement of the price series in 2023 and provide a margin of uncertainty about the forecast. The ultimate goal will be to specify a robust and adaptive analysis model that updates the forecasts even beyond the time horizon of December 31, 2023, after periodic data updates.

FISM Treviso – Demographic perspectives and network of educational services for children 0-6 years old in the Autonomous Province of Trento.
Scientific Coordinator: Prof. Alessandro Rosina. In collaboration with Dr. Luppi and Dr. Vitali.
2024 project completed in 2025. The decline in the birth rate and the consequent demographic decline, destined to accentuate over the next few decades, will make the emptying by the young population more evident and rapid, especially of the less central areas of the country and in particular of the inland areas due to lack of job opportunities and services. Therefore, not only in large urban areas but especially in smaller towns, the maintenance of services is essential to hinder, or at least not to further incentivise, depopulation. Among these, the availability of childcare services, infant-toddler centres and preschools is a crucial element in order not to force young people to leave the country when they decide to start a family. The province of Treviso – and the Veneto region more generally – is characterized by an offer of places in private kindergartens that exceeds those in municipal and state schools, in contrast to what happens on average in other Italian regions. By virtue of their presence and the role they play, it is necessary to systematically study the expected repercussions of demographic dynamics on the activity and relevance of private schools in the Veneto region and more particularly in the province of Treviso. The objectives of the research are developed in 4 phases: Reading of the demographic dynamics of the territory; a mapping of childcare services; a comparative comparison with reality; policy indications for institutions and useful reflections to activate regulatory tools, resources and strategic collaborations.

Euro-Mediterranean Institute Analysis of the condition of young people in the territories of Olbia and Tempio Pausania
Scientific Coordinator: Prof. Emiliano Sironi.
2024 project with the aim of obtaining an in-depth knowledge of the territory and the condition of young people, through the administration of questionnaires to a sample of over six hundred young people, to give local authorities useful indications for the purposes of reintegration policies into the world of work for young people who do not study and do not work (NEETs). The analysis concerned the dimensions of the evaluation of school experiences, work paths and the transition process to adulthood, with particular reference to the sphere of attitudes and orientations towards work, legality, family and social capital. The data were processed in the form of univariate and bivariate descriptive statistics tables to assess how attitudes, values and orientations change according to the socio-demographic profiles of the interviewees and on the basis of previous experiences and family background. The project was carried out under the patronage of the Municipality of Olbia and the Salesians of Don Bosco in Rome.

The working group organized several meetings with the primary objective of deepening the participants' knowledge of multivariate statistical techniques and developing their use with the analysis of real problems. Particular attention was paid to exploratory data analysis techniques and to the topic of "Customer Satisfaction" evaluation, reviewing the available methodologies and at the same time highlighting the corresponding areas of application. Scientific coordinator: Prof. Luigi Santamaria. In collaboration with Prof. Bramante. The following took part in the working group: Banca Popolare di Bergamo, Cassa di Risparmio di Genova e Imperia, Credito Valtellinese and Cassa di Risparmio di Parma e Piacenza.
The objective of this working group is the analysis and control of company risks, with particular reference to the analysis of financial and insurance risks. The organisational and regulatory issues underlying risk control were outlined, focusing on market risks and in particular on the "Value at risk" methodology. A study was carried out on the statistical aspects of this methodology, focusing on the probabilistic structure of the problem, the importance of volatility in the measurement of risk, the methodologies for estimating volatility and the verification of the models used, with particular attention to the quality of the information collected. The Group worked from 1996 to 2008.

The Working Group, after having examined the state of the art of sampling methods and the possibilities of operational use, focused on some issues that were considered of particular interest to the participants in the work, such as those concerning the structure of the sample size, the definition of sampling techniques and procedures, the definition of the probabilistic structure for the different sample procedures, the choice of the operational plan as well as the correctness and efficiency of the estimates of population parameters. With particular attention to the effect that changes in economic and market situations have on the homogeneity of information collection conducted through surveys. The Group worked from 1996 to 2008.
