The Week of Italian Studies, organized by the Center for Italian Studies (CSI/CIS) of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Milan in collaboration with the Katholieke Universiteit of Leuven, offers students an interdisciplinary in-depth study of Italian culture and civilization, dedicated, year after year, to to a different key theme, with the involvement of highly qualified speakers.
The second edition, exceptionally delivered in online mode at a subsidized cost and extended to three weeks due to the Covid-19 emergency, intends to offer its members a series of asynchronous video lessons focused on the theme of the Transmission of knowledge, which will be addressed through interaction and dialogue between different disciplines and fields of study, with particular attention to the historical, philosophical, literary, artistic and performative aspects. The lessons will be accompanied by some dialogues or interviews with researchers and book authors, live streaming meetings and moments of dedicated tutoring .
The recipients of the initiative are all those who, Italians or foreigners with a good knowledge of the Italian language, wish to deepen the characterizing aspects of Italian culture, with particular reference to the theme of the transmission of knowledge. It is aimed in particular at: enrolled in undergraduate and graduate degree courses, graduates, doctoral students and PhDs. It is also open to teachers of Secondary Schools and Italian Schools abroad, for the purpose of professional development.

The second edition of the Week of Italian Studies is divided into five teaching modules, each of which is aimed at investigating a particular aspect related to the theme of Knowledge Transmission; Each module (to which single registration is also allowed ) consists of a series of video lessons, which will be available in asynchronous mode for the entire duration of the course on the digital platform dedicated to the initiative.
The Week of Italian Studies includes 18 asynchronous lessons and moments of individual study for a total of 30 hours. There will also be additional moments of live streaming and dedicated tutoring.
All lessons and activities will be held entirely in Italian.

For those registered for the entire Week: those who have completed the viewing of all the videos and successfully passed the final online test will be issued a certificate of attendance.
For those enrolled in single teaching modules: those who have completed the viewing of all the videos provided in the individual teaching modules and have successfully passed the final online test relating to them will be issued a certificate of attendance.
Participation in the Week of Italian Studies is recognized by the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart with 1 University Educational Credit (CFU); Those who wish to acquire this credit, in addition to having completed the viewing of all the videos and successfully passed the final online test, will have to take a final written test, aimed at verifying the acquisition of the contents addressed during the course, which will take place online on the morning of Saturday 21 February 2021
RECOGNITION FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHERS:
The Week of Italian Studies is included in the training and updating courses for school staff organised by Università Cattolica, as a qualified body by MIUR pursuant to Directive no. 170 of 21/03/2016. Participation gives rise to the legal and economic effects provided for by the regulations in force (MIUR note no. 2915 of 15/09/2016). Participation in the Study Week can be financed through the 'Teacher's Charter' provided for by Law 107/2015 so-called "Good School".

COSTS AND BENEFITS
- The cost of registration for the Week of Italian Studies is € 150.00 including VAT (for Secondary School teachers, also with a Teacher's Card).
- For the entire week, there is a reduction of € 130.00 including VAT for graduates of Università Cattolica enrolled in the premium services of the UCSC Alumni Community, for members of the Friends of Università Cattolica Association, for students enrolled in other universities.
- For students enrolled at Università Cattolica and the Katholieke Universiteit in Leuven, the participation fee for the whole week is Euro 100.00 including VAT.
- It is possible to enrol in one or more modules at a cost of € 50.00 including VAT per module (for Secondary School teachers, also with the Teacher's Card).
The registration fee is non-refundable.
ENROLMENT
1. To participate in the entire Week it is necessary to make the payment of the participation fee by 21 January 2021. Secondary school teachers must proceed with payment through the following dedicated link.
The receipt of payment must be sent by the same date by e-mail to the csi@unicatt.it address , together with an application form containing the following data:
- Name and surname
- Tax code (only for members of Italian nationality)
- Email address
- Student ID number (only for students enrolled at Università Cattolica)
Secondary school teachers will only have to send the receipt of payment to the daniela.veritierovitulano1@unicatt.it address .
Before proceeding with the payment, students of KU Leuven must send an application by 21 January to Prof. Van Den Bossche (bart.vandenbossche@kuleuven.be), attaching the following data:

2. To register for the individual modules , payment must be made by 21 January 2021. Secondary school teachers must proceed with payment through the following dedicated link.
