On the 15th November, 2017, with an official cerimony has been signed at Karachi (Pakistan) a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Italia) and the Directorate General of Antiquities and Archaeology - Culture, Tourism & Antiquities Department, Government of Sindh (Pakistan). The cerimony was co-chaired by the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities of Sindh, H.E. Seyed Sardar Ali Shah, and the Consul of Italy to Karachi, H.E. Gianluca Rubagotti. The purpose of this agreement - the first of its genre in Pakistan - is to enhance cooperation initiatives and research between the two Institutions in the fields of History and Archaeology, and to develop a common programme in the field of Formation and Training (theoretical and on the job) of young officers involving Academic and Administrative Units.
For the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore are scientific referents this Centre of Research (CRiSSMA) and prof. Cinzia Bearzot (pre islamic research). The related activity takes place under the sponsorship of the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI). Preliminary contacts are underway. Field activity has been programmed for this Winter Season until March 2018.
