Empirical studies of discourse and argumentation in public policy: multidisciplinary and multilingual perspectives
Convegno
WG1 meeting - international conference of the European Network for Argumentation and Public Policy Analysis
Sala della Gloria - Via Trieste 17, Brescia
Programma
This workshop brings together different perspectives for the empirical studies on discourse and argumentation in public policy, offering an opportunity to present research developed by WG1 members over the course of the COST Action. Submissions regard discourse and argumentation studies, taking into account the different actors that take part in public deliberation: policymakers, citizens, activists, different forms of (social) media, private companies, educational institutions and others. In particular, we welcome approaches from different disciplines, including argumentation studies, discourse analysis, conversation analysis, linguistics, discursive psychology and communication. Because WG1 studies empirical discourse in the European context, we do not limit our analyses to the English language: we particularly welcome contributions on other languages and/or on multilingual corpora.
