The activity  in CERTT is mainly concentrated on innovative approaches and treatment of difficult diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. Of particular interest are bilio-pancreatic and malignancies of the gastrointestinal tract. Mini-invasive treatments of gastrointestinal and metabolic diseases such as obesity and related diseases and treatment of rare disease.

The digestive Endoscopy Unit of CERTT is one of the biggest Units in the world with 22.000 endoscopies performed yearly. The unit is composed of eight endoscopy suits and one hybrid room. The hybrid room has a CT-scan and Cone Beam Robotic Arm (Siemens) and allows for all kinds of hybrid treatments (endoscopy, surgery, interventistic radiology, vascular etc).
