The center
The ARC Research Centre - Centre for the Anthropology of Religion and Generative Studies - was established by Rector's Decree no. 4920 of 20 February 2008. The Steering Committee is composed of professors Mauro Magatti (Director), Hans Peter Müller, Silvano Petrosino and Monica Martinelli (Directors).
The main lines of the Centre's activities are as follows:
- the implementation of some research, qualified from the point of view of theoretical approach and methodological innovation, and of constant monitoring actions on socio-cultural changes, with particular attention to the following processes: social generativity and social innovation; emerging models of innovative paths concerning socio-economic development and business forms; the city and urban transformations; the new welfare and its implications; changes in the cultural landscape, including some religious and lifestyle transformations;
- the realization of study seminars and interdisciplinary discussion with guests from other universities on topics concerning contemporary socio-cultural transformations with particular attention to the anthropological implications concerning both the subjective dimension and the social level, also enhancing the interpretative lines offered by the classical sociological tradition;
- the construction of a national and international network between subjects, individual and collective, through which to develop opportunities for meeting, debate, intellectual exchange and the possibility of transnational research;
- consultancy and training for bodies and organisations that, at various levels, intend to launch composite and integrated paths of social and cultural innovation.
