Ten years of CHEI!

2021 marks the tenth anniversary of the founding of the Centre for Higher Education Internationalisation (CHEI) at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.

As our tenth anniversary falls in the year that Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore marks its centenary, our anniversary events are also included in the University's celebratory programme. Events will be held throughout the academic year and we welcome the CHEI community and friends to attend.

Our first event took place on 16 and 17 September with a programme of four webinars, bringing together members of our Management and Academic Boards, our PhD students and alumni, and the CHEI Educational Developers in sessions of reflection and discussion about the CHEI story, the future, the implications of the current situation and the future of internationalisation of higher education.

Further events will be publicised on our site. Come and celebrate ten years of CHEI with us!

The Centre

CHEI aims to make a leading contribution to research and professional practice in higher education internationalisation at Università Cattolica, in Italy, across Europe, and globally, through extensive outreach in activities and affiliation with leaders and practitioners in the field. More than seven countries across five continents are represented within the leadership and management group of CHEI. Regular participation in international conferences on higher education internationalisation supports ongoing engagement in dialogue on national and regional priorities and emerging issues.

The Centre promotes and conducts research, training and policy analysis to strengthen the international dimensions of higher education. CHEI organises seminars, conferences, training courses and workshops; designs, conducts and facilitates research; disseminates results through publications and conferences; and, in conjunction with the Schools of Education and Languages at Università Cattolica, it offers one of the only doctoral programmes in the world focused on higher education internationalisation.
