It is with great sadness that we share the news of the untimely death of Professor Giuseppe Mari, one of our affiliated Faculty at the Centre for Higher Education Internationalisation. A full professor of Pedagogy in the Education Department at Università Cattolica, Giuseppe Mari was a highly respected colleague both locally and internationally. He was particularly active in the field of Catholic education and formation around Italy, particularly in the Brescia area, having both a degree in Philosophy from the University of Padua and a Licence in Moral Theology from the Catholic Theological Faculty in Lugano, Switzerland. He also enjoyed a successful international career which included Visiting Professorships in the USA and in Poland. His loss will be keenly felt by colleagues and friends.

With the Centre for Higher Education Internationalisation, he co-supervised our doctoral student, Visnja Schampers Car, and contributed greatly to building a solid footing in the research community within the University.

We are profoundly grateful to Giuseppe Mari for everything he has done for the Centre. We will miss his warm enthusiasm and support, and extend our deepest sympathy to his wife and two daughters.
