CHEI PhD Research Training Seminar
Our Autumn 2018 PhD Research Seminar is scheduled for 3-7 September 2018 and will be held at the Università Cattolica Milan campus. Enrolments are now open.
The CHEI PhD research seminar is held twice a year and is open to a broad international community of students and scholars with an interest in the internationalisation of higher education. Participants include current and prospective CHEI doctoral students, and Italian and international doctoral students from other programmes.
We held our last PhD Research Seminar in Brescia in May 2018. With attendees from the Netherlands, Bulgaria, Russia, the US, the UK, Mexico, Israel, Switzerland, Germany, Turkey and Italy, it was a truly international gathering of students and scholars. The five-day seminar on the internationalisation of higher education delivered a programme of sessions on PhD methodology as well as plenary sessions on current developments in internationalisation.
2nd International Symposium on English-medium Instruction
Our second international symposium on English-medium instruction (EMI) in higher education will be held in Rome on 25 May 2018. Organised jointly by the University of Rome Tor Vergata and the Centre for Higher Education Internationalisation (CHEI), this one-day event is aimed not only at EMI practitioners and researchers in higher education but also at graduates, trainee teachers, young researchers and PhD students working in languages and education.
The symposium will be held at the University of Rome Tor Vergata. There is no charge for attendance but online registration is requested.
Internationalisation of Higher Education: a global study commissioned by the European Parliament
The Centre for Higher Education Internationalisation (CHEI) is co-author of Internationalisation of Higher Education together with the International Association of Universities (IAU) and the European Association for International Education (EAIE). The study was commissioned by the European Parliament and analyses the current state of internationalisation of higher education in Europe and outside Europe. It identifies key trends and draws a picture of the future of itnernationalisation in Europe.

The CHEI Doctoral Programme is directed at aspiring researchers and professionals in higher education internationalisation and focusses exclusively on internationalisation of higher education.
International Higher Education – section on internationalisation co-edited by CHEI
The Centre for Higher Education Internationalisation (CHEI) jointly edits a section on internationalisation in International Higher Education (IHE), a quarterly publication by the Boston College Centre for International Higher Education (CIHE) with comment and analysis of trends and developments in internationalisation of higher education.
